Yesterday couldn’t have been more perfect for the 2011 St. Louis Cardinals Blogger Event. Perfect hosts, perfect weather, perfect game.

The afternoon started with the St. Louis Cardinals hosting a conference in their administrative offices. None of us were really too sure what to expect as the details were limited. To our surprise, General Manager John Mozeliak walked in. Without getting into too much detail (see below for the entire live blog that transpired), Mo talked about the 2011 team and their expectations. He also did a Q & A with the audience for about 30 minutes or so. To us, this was the highlight of the event–he was very casual and candid with his replies. It gave me a newfound respect for the GM because it seemed like he respected our passion for the Cardinals; spending this time with us wasn’t something that he HAD to do.

After Mozeliak’s session was complete, the media team for the St. Louis Cardinals stepped in and wanted to highlight some options as far as tickets were concerned.

Some of those great options to consider are:

• First Pitch Tickets
• Cardinals Values

Make sure to check out those options for tickets all season long. There are some great values there. Especially the ‘First Pitch Tickets’, you could end up with field seats to standing room only as it’s a completely random process. Either way, $5.60 to see a game is for sure worth the gamble.

Once the event concluded, we were escorted to our suite where there was free food, free beverages and an awesome view of the game. Even Matthew Leach, Jim Hayes and Fredbird stopped by for a visit!

We all know how the game went, but we wanted to send out a huge thanks to the St. Louis Cardinals for taking the time to recognize the growing combination of social media and sports. The two go hand and hand in today’s world, and Cards Droppings would love to assist in taking this aspect to the next level with the help of the St. Louis Cardinals.
